![]() They did have records of it being in for routine maintenance, but did not say what exactly and how often. According to the dealer when I had the ECM updated, that had never been done. And to better please you: 91k miles when bought used so in that I am unsure of it's service records. I've contributed to this site in a positive manner, though not much, but in 33 posts, what could you expect? My post prior to this one was an informative one that others might find usefull in that all they might have to do is have the ECM updated as it solved my issue. Any input someone gives is considered constructive, unlike your post to me. To start, this thread is no where near two years old from its inception, Dec 2013- that's 15 months old and I made my first post to this thread in June 2014, so this thread hasn't even sat dormant a year, but 7 months at most. I also work for a company that bought two trucks from them and I will tell them what I have been going through which I guarantee they will go back to ford as well. They will lose a lot of customers due to this issue. IDK pretty sad everyone on this site says the same things and GM wont recall it and or automatically extend the warranty on it. they also told me that this board people are probably from the east coast cuz they don't have issues with the chain much here in vegas. I got that two times before the check engine light finally came on. The service guys at the front gave me jokes about what I was hearing saying I have aliens in my engine. I am sad because the equinox on the outside looks awesome. I will hope things will be ok but if not I will be trading it in for a explorer or edge. I pick up my suv after work tonight from Ed bozarth Chevy in las vegas. I feel I chose the wrong company to buy from. so after the year warranty is up I will have to come up with what they just quoted me 1700.00 Who has this kind of money to replace and repair a car plus car payment plus higher insurance for new car plus 350 for tabs. This issue with the chain can happen from 20,000 to 50,000 miles I don't even drive 20,000 in one year. But my issue is that I just drive 15 minutes back and forth to work each day. my issue is that yes, the part will be warrantied for on year. I do still have until 2015 a factory warranty on engine so this chain will be covered. This 2010 equinox only has 40,000 miles on it and already having issues. I am more upset at the fact that I had my ford explorer for 14 years and never had a problem with it until last year. Now 6 months or so later I have to have them change out the timing chain and put two new speakers in the car due to interference. Was really excited since it was red and pretty.
